NavigatingCamp Safety 🧭

Practical skills and tools. Pick your own path.

For everyone on your camp team, directors, safety leads, program leads and health staff. Take the whole course, or pick only the modules that matter to your role.

Tuesday, October 6 to Tuesday, December 15, 2026

01 · Why this course exists

Every person on your camp team has a part in this

New legislation and safety standards are creating real implementation challenges for camps, and most camps have no dedicated safety role and no budget to create one. The Safety Navigator built Navigating Camp Safety to close that gap. It gives everyone who plays a part in safety at a camp, whether or not that is a formal title, the knowledge, the tools, and the peer network to turn safety requirements into everyday practice themselves.

The course assumes no prior safety, legal, or clinical background. Every concept is translated into steps any member of the camp team can act on between staff briefings, and every module ships with a tool, template, or resource participants can put to use straight away. In keeping with our mission, the course is free to camps, with no cost and no seat limit.

Every camp begins with its own risk profile

Week 1 is a live, hands-on session using our interactive risk assessment tool. It produces an initial risk profile and points each camp toward the modules that matter most in its own context. From there, participants build a Camp Safety Roadmap progressively across the course and submit it in Week 10, a working, board-ready safety plan by the final session.

03 · Pick your own path

Three pathways, one camp can use all three

The course is deliberately built for more than one kind of participant. Three pathways let everyone at the same camp engage at the depth that fits their role, and a camp can use all three at once.
